A catch-all mailbox receives emails sent to invalid addresses under the very same domain. For instance, an email sent to the miswritten suport@domain.com will be delivered to support@domain.com if the catch-all feature has been activated for the latter. In this way, you can receive email messages from pals or clients who may have sent a message to your email address with a spelling mistake or to an out-of-date one, which they may still have, but you have already deactivated. Just one single mailbox per domain name can be a catch-all one and email forwarding cannot be set up for such a mailbox. The latter is due to the fact that at a certain moment you may start receiving spam emails in the catch-all mailbox and the forwarding restriction means that the spam will not be redirected to a 3rd-party mailbox.

Catch-all Emails in Shared Website Hosting

If you have a shared website hosting service with us and you’d like to activate the catch-all functionality for a certain email mailbox that you’ve got in your account, it will take literally only a mouse click in the Email Manager section of your Hepsia hosting Control Panel to achieve this. A catch-all button is available next to each and every email address that you have created under any domain hosted in your account. You can choose one address per domain by clicking the respective button. This will activate the feature instantly, so all emails sent to mistyped addresses will be re-sent there. Clicking the button for a second time will disable the catch-all feature. In case you have activated email forwarding, our system will show a cautionary notice and you will not be able to enable the catch-all feature unless you remove the forwarding or you can simply choose a different mailbox to be the catch-all one.

Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Hosting

The in-house built Hepsia Control Panel that is included with every semi-dedicated server plan that we offer will allow you to create a catch-all mailbox easily even if you don’t have much web/email hosting experience. All it takes to achieve that is to click the catch-all icon, which will be to the right of each email address that you’ve set up using your domain names in the Email Manager section of the hosting Control Panel. Since you can have just one single mailbox with this feature per domain, our system will let you know if you’ve already configured another catch-all mailbox or if the one that you would like to use has email forwarding enabled. In case you decide that you don’t want this feature anymore, you can disable it by clicking again on the very same icon. The Email Manager section will also permit you to see your catch-all mailboxes at a glance.
